Week 20

How big is baby? The size of a banana!

Baby Development FYI:
HALF WAY!  Baby weighs about 10.2 ounces and measures about 6.5 inches. She’s still got a lot of growing to do though. Can you believe you’re halfway done? He’s got working taste buds. Now, he’s gulping down several ounces of amniotic fluid each day — that’s significantly more than before.

My body has been invaded, how’s that going?
This is the first week that I started to feel stretched.  There is no more room to grow unless my belly starts to stretch!  It is such a funny feeling, being the biggest you’ve ever been and filling out all the extra skin, then eating a huge meal for dinner, and that uncomfortable feeling after that, WOW.  Also, when I laugh really hard, it feels like my whole belly bounces and laughs with me.  Which makes me laugh harder because it feels so funny.

Of course, lots of kicking.  Nate has felt it twice now, woohoo!  Even with all the kicking, I’ve still been getting great nights of sleep, which I am very thankful for.  I think I’ve gotten really lucky in the sleep department so far.  In fact, this is the best I’ve slept in my whole life.  But I know some friends who’ve really had trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep with their bundles of joy, so I know it’s only a matter of time for me.

What’s been on my mind?
Not so much what is on my mind, but what is NOT on my mind.  I’ve been having the hardest time concentrating on anything.  Unless it has to do with baby, I don’t give a hoot.  But I know I should, and it’s hard to make myself.  Anyone else have a problem concentrating?  What are some tricks to force yourself to concentrate?

I’m thinking nesting has started.  Over the weekend I dusted all of the baseboards, then vacuumed them, along with all the windows, blinds, doors, dvds, and any surface that had a speck of dust.  Also yanked everything out of the pantry and reorganized that.  Ended up getting rid of 3 trash bags full of food!!

Crazy Cravings:
Needed an artichoke.  To dip the leaves, I usually make a butter and lemon juice mixture.  This time…butter, lemon juice, and white wine vinegar.  Nate said it tasted like a foot, I thought it tasted like heaven.  Fruits, nuts, and veggies.  Still loving my hamburgers and milkshakes.  Everything is good right now.

Highlights:
Going home to see my parents this past weekend.  Was nice to just hang out and sleep in.  Also got to see my in-laws and nephew!  He is always fun to just watch because he is such a cute and happy baby.  My sister-in-law packed me up with some baby gear and clothes.  So I got some Dreft and did my first load of baby laundry.  Oh the smell.  Love the smell!  And the little onesies, I can’t wait to fill them up with a baby!!

Our lovely pantry.  And a special thank you to the Container Store for my newest store addiction!

  3. My husband asked me the other day, if I considered myself a momma yet. I hadn't thought about it like that! Thank goodness for blogging because even though I would love to scrapbook this pregnancy, I don't know if I'd actually stick to it.
